About This Project

A challenging and successful pitched roof home transformation.

Across our 35 years of building, the Clayfield renovation stands out as one of the most interesting and technically challenging projects we have had the privilege of working on.

The main job was repairing the roof which had extensive damage from hail. The sheer steepness of the roof, pitched at 55 degrees, presented an exciting obstacle from the very start.

Generally speaking, roofs under 30 degrees are relatively straightforward, but anything above that requires specialised edge protection systems.

At 55 degrees, simply walking on the roof was risky. The challenge of strong winds and storms; means that extensive scaffolding was required.

Before breaking ground, it was essential to protect the property from the elements with strong temporary measures.

Right from the get go, we assembled a team of architects, engineers, and builders, to carefully plan every aspect of the project. Countless hours were spent figuring out how to tackle the unique challenges of this roof while keeping the renovation on time and within budget.

After working closely with scaffolding and safety experts, we created a system that met all safety standards. Once the project was approved, we started the necessary preliminary work.

The interior fit-out had its challenges but we were keen to get in and create some unique designs for this distinct home. Designing and installing bathrooms, wardrobes, the master bedroom, ensuite and walk in robe, all within the confines of the 55-degree pitch- demanded innovative thinking from our design team.

The client’s enthusiasm with our team throughout the process created a collaborative atmosphere that made the whole process more rewarding.

In the end, the Clayfield renovation was a great success.

We overcame technical challenges, and the beautiful finished product reflects the dedication and creativity of everyone involved.

This project will always be special to ProBuilder.
